Baileya Moths

Pale Baileya moth. There is a pale band through the center of its wings, but the upper and lower portions are much darker.

Eyed Baileya. These moths have a pale, oval-shaped patch around the thorax. This feature distinguishes them from Pale Baileya moths (above). Eyed Baileya moths come to my lights from May through August.

Sleeping Baileya. The eyespot is "closed" (only a pupil with no circle around it). I found this moth on July 28, 2023. It is my only sighting of the species.

Small Baileya. Similar to the Sleeping Baileya above, but the ST line is straight in the lower corner of the wings. The Sleeping Baileya (above) has a sharp bend in this line. Small Baileya moths come to my lights from April through August.

Another Pale Baileya moth. I have found a couple of these moths in April, June, and July.
