PROMINENT MOTHS
Another Double-toothed Prominent. I have found several individuals at my lights in April and May.
Black-rimmed Prominent moth, found at my UV lights on July 9, 2018.
Oval-based Prominent. This species is very common at my moth lights.
Georgian Prominent moth, photographed at Hocking Hills. I have not yet found this species at my home lights.
Chocolate Prominent moth, found May 12, 2018 at Hocking Hills (eastern Ohio). I have not yet found this moth at my home lights, but it was a neat find for a chocoholic like me!
Another Black-rimmed Prominent moth, photographed on April 24, 2022. These are the only two Black-rimmed Prominents I have found so far.
Double-toothed Prominent, resting on a stick. This moth's disruptive camouflage makes it look like peeling bark or a broken twig.
Another Georgian Prominent moth at Hocking Hills.
Double-lined Prominent. Both the AM and PM lines are doubled with light shading between the lines.
Double-lined Prominent moths show up at my lights from May through August.
Black-spotted Prominent. I have found a couple of these moths in June and August.
