SPOTTED GRASS MOTH, BROWN-LINED oWLET, sLANT-LINED oWLET, and Louisiana Owlet

Spotted Grass Moth. I have found several of these at my lights from July through early October. Notice the two dark spots in the dark patch.

Another Slant-lined Owlet. This one was photographed June 9, 2021 at Germantown MetroPark. These are the only two Slant-lined Owlets that I have found in Ohio

Brown-lined Owlet. These are not very common at my lights. I have only found a couple of individuals in June and August.

This is a Slant-lined Owlet, photographed May 27, 2017 at Siebenthaler Fen.

Louisiana Owlet. Despite the Cajun name, these moths have a large range throughout the eastern U.S. and Canada. They do not seem to be very common, but Louisiana Owlets could be overlooked because they are fairly small and plain. This is the only one I have found at my lights. June 3, 2024.
