Tawny-Edged Skipper

Tawny-edged Skipper on blue mistflowers. This is one of our most common skippers. 

This is a female Tawny-edged Skipper. She has two pale rectangular spots at the lower end of the orange streak, rather than one.  

Tawny-edged Skipper on Black-eyed Susans. 

The undersurface of the wings is plain brown, except for an orange streak along the margin. 

Tawny-edged Skippers have a long flight period, from mid-May through late October.
